ICS Airsoft Guns

Innovation, competition and satisfaction, the self-styled acronym for ICS Enterprise, which really stands for I Chih Shivan, one of the world's most respected airsoft manufacturers.

The company was set up just 25 years ago, in 1983, to supply gas and air powered BB guns to the Japanese market. With the sudden rise in popularity of automatic electric pistols, or AEGs, in the 1990s, ICS took the bold decision in 1998 to devote their entire workforce to development of these new pistols. This devotion has enabled ICS to launch some of the best AEGs around today, while keeping pricing low and customer satisfaction high.

Today, ICS is considered to be one of the top three airsoft manufacturers in the world, along with Tokyo Marui and Classic Army, boasting an arsenal of over 40 different AEGs and various accessories, such as batteries, chargers and replacement gears. They even sell a variety of laser sights that can be used in conjunction with their pistols.

A particular selling point for I Chih Shivan is that most of their guns are built from strong metal, making them not only much stronger, but much more like the real weapon. This makes their AEGs very different to those made by Tokyo Marui, and is why guns made by ICS are highly sought after by airsoft fans, and many people have made a deliberate decision to go with ICS rather than buy a Tokyo Marui model which would be constructed from plastic.

As well as making the majority of their guns from metal, ICS have devised a split gearbox. The gearbox in AEGs is used to fire the BBs, and is therefore in constant use, and can require frequent servicing. To solve this problem, some of ICS's gearboxes allow the upper gearbox, with spring and cylinder, to detach from the lower gearbox, which contains the actual gears.

ICS have also been praised for the way their products are put together. It's extremely difficult to make anything perfectly, but ICS come pretty close to it, primarily as a result of the way their factory operates. They use machines to a certain extent, but much of the detailed work is done by the workforce that they employ, resulting in a top class product that fits together and works seamlessly.
